1.4.1 Aerodromes and heliports are classified as follows:

1.4.1.1 Civil Public Aerodromes/heliports:
|
An aerodrome/heliport which is open to the public and serves aircraft/helicopter operations offering scheduled or non-scheduled commercial air services. All civil /public aerodromes/heliports in KSA must be certificated under the provisions of GACA Regulations part I 39 and part I 38 respectively.

1.4.1.2 Civil General Aviation aerodromes/heliports
|
A General Aviation Aerodrome/heliport is any aerodrome/heliport used to serve aircraft/helicopter operations for any purpose other than those listed in the above paragraph (1.4.1.1). A General Aviation aerodrome/heliport must be authorized under provisions of GACA Regulations part 139 and part 138 respectively.

1.4.1.3 Military aerodromes/heliports
|
Military aerodromes/heliports are exclusively used for military operations, and they are not certified or authorized by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). Military aerodromes/heliports are published in the KSA eAIP under the ownership's responsibility.

1.4.2 International aerodrome/heliport
|
An aerodrome/heliport designated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within its territory for entry and exit of international air traffic; where procedures pertaining to customs, immigration, health and quarantine, including animal and plant quarantine and other similar procedures are implemented.
Aircraft landing in or departing from the territory of Saudi Arabia must first land at or finally depart from such an international aerodrome/heliport.

1.4.3 National/domestic aerodrome/heliport
|
An aerodrome/heliport available only for domestic air traffic, including those military aerodromes/heliports where civil air traffic is allowed under certain conditions.

1.4.4 The criteria applied in grouping aerodromes and heliports for the provision of information in the KSA eAIP are as follows:

|
Aeronautical information relating to Certified Heliports is published in the section (AD 3) of the KSA eAIP and sorted by alphabetical order.

1.4.4.3 KSA eAIP Section AD 1.3 (INDEX TO AERODROMES AND HELIPORTS)

An index to the certified Aerodromes and Heliports is published in sub-section (AD 1.3.1) of the KSA eAIP.
